Unsold Garments Upcycling Project – Peonies
As part of our school program, we worked on an upcycling project for the concept store Peonies, a boutique that carries several different brands.
Our mission was to propose a reproducible process, enabling the store manager, together with a designer, to upcycle multiple unsold garments.
We chose to fully deconstruct the garments to recover as much material as possible.
From this recovered material, we designed a modular vest made up of flower-shaped elements inspired by peonies, the store’s emblem.
Using only three garments, we were able to create a vest entirely composed of embroidered flowers, giving unsold items a new life while staying true to Peonies’ identity.
Semi-Industrial Embroidery Machine
As part of the Peonies project, we learned to use a semi-industrial embroidery machine and its software to transform a design created in Illustrator into embroidery, taking advantage of the different stitch options available.
